Product of the Day

In 1999, the US Mint issued 5 quarters: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia and Connecticut.

Delaware is called the first state because it first acceded to the Union in December 1787. The coin portrays a rider - Caesar Rodney, a lawyer and politician, signatory of the Declaration of Independence.
Pennsylvania - coin depicts the Commonwealth Statue, outline of the state, stone and motto: Virtue, Liberty, Independence.
The coin from New Jersey pictures George Washington stepping on to the bank of the Delaware River. The coin is entitled "Crossroads of the Revolution".
The coin from Georgia depicts a peach, an outline of the states border and its motto, "Wisdom, Justice, Moderation".
The quarter from Connecticut is considered the most beautiful in the entire series. It depicts a spreading tree - one of the largest oaks that English colonists of Connecticut called Wyllys Hyll.
